METALLIC STORMTROOPER EXHIBITING AT SAATCHI GALLEY IN OCTOBER FOR ART WARS

Andrew Ainsworth

If you’re in London from the 9th to 13th October, don’t miss out on seeing the first Metallic Trooper, created by the original propmaker himself, Andrew Ainsworth.

In 1977, we started work on a new generation of Stormtrooper. Whilst working on the iconic armour and helmets used in A New Hope, Andrew was experimenting with a Metallic Trooper.

The process for creating the metallic trooper back then was difficult and highly experimental, and so, never truly saw the light of the day. But now, 36 years later, Andrew has perfected this process and the Metallic Trooper has been
born.

The concept is that this trooper evolved in a world where elements other than carbon can generate life. Metallic elements that aren’t found on our Earth, but ones that produce impenetrable armour, creating high class soldiers.

The metallic trooper supports a reflective shield, which when skilfully manipulated, counteracts and deflects laser attack  from the enemy.

We’re proud to be unveiling Andrew’s first metallic trooper at the Saatchi Gallery, London this October. From the 9th to the 13th, he will be on display as part of Art Wars’ exhibition in aid of the Missing Tom foundation.

Other pieces at the exhibition include custom designed Stormtrooper helmets by other famous artists, including Damien Hirst.

The first metallic trooper will them be auctioned for charity by Christies at the end of the year along with the other pieces of artwork.
