SUMMARY

UNDERCUT

“INCREASE THE GARRISON...”

Releasing the moulded plastic from the undercuts on the original moulds could be quite a challenge and so to make a helmet that is more conducive to production Andrew modified the rear undercut. This modified mould produced the Battle Spec helmet at more affordable price but retains the high quality gloss finish of the Acrylic capped ABS that this helmet is made from..
REG-BROW

“KEEP ON TROOPING...”

This helmet is based on the original STUNT helmet without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
The regular height of the brow is the same as the STUNT Helmet. This brow rubber section along with the neck rubber were materials used for Andrew’s previous car production and ready to hand for the original prototype sent to Lucas.
EAR PIECE

“BRIDGE THE GAP...”

The ear piece was developed to cover the join between the front and rear helmet mouldings.

They gave the helmet presence, like a lion's mane whilst simultaneously giving the impression of a communications device, by way of the raised vertical grid.
FLAT LENS

“SEE FOR PARSECS...”

The Flat Green Lenses are the same as those used in the original on-screen Stunt Helmet. No trouble trooping with this level of vision, plus they are really effective on a Sunny day.
MOULDED

“high-gloss mouth...”

The moulded mouth piece as a separate component replaces the hand painted area . The mouthpiece is the same shape as in the Stunt helmet, but vac-formed from black acrylic capped ABS. This feature makes manufacturing easier without diminishing the look or durability.
MIC TIPS

“FUTURISTIC COMMUNICATION...”

"The 'Hovi Mix Pa 2,' also known as Mic Tips, are now 3D printed, meticulously modelled from the original part. Initially, Andrew tried crafting the Mic Tips using vacuum-formed plastic, but they lacked the precision and sharpness he desired. Seeking a more straightforward solution, he visited his favourite greebles shop, the Wheelhouse in Hounslow. There, he stumbled upon an unusual sink cleaning attachment called the Swirlerator, marked with the part number 'Hovi Mix Pa 2.' It turned out to be perfect."
